Customers often ask why we included the ingredients in the Be-1 Pellets.  In full disclosure, here are the diverse organic ingredients and the reasons we include all of them:

Amino Acids - technological advances in understanding has helped us to identify these benefits. 

1) Increase biology in soil  

2) Many amino acids are chelating / complexing agents for cation nutrients, attaching to a variety of nutrients, making it easier for plants to absorb

3) Facilitate photosynthesis

4) Improve plant stress resilience, i.e.
Good plant nutrition = strong plant = plant better able to cope with stresses (transplant, salinity, cold, drought, oxidative conditions and pest pressures)

Bat Guano
10% Nitrogen, 7% Phosphorus and 2% Potassium, +many trace minerals

From the remote location of our bat cave in Asia, unique nutrients in our bat guano provides spectacular, sustained foliar growth, building root mass and blooms, while encouraging microbial diversity in soil.

Shrimp Shell
Up to 25% Calcium % total Nitrogen, 3% Phosphorus, and 0.5% Potassium, +many trace minerals (Magnesium, Boron, etc).

A byproduct of the seafood industry, shells are often used as a soil additive. Shells are kiln dried and ground up into meal. A protein in shells called "chitin" is food for microorganisms. Chitin is not only a slow-release nitrogen to fuel chitin eating microbes, but also encourages defense mechanisms in plants and helps control pH.  Once shells are gone, microbes turn to feasting on nematodes, which also contain high levels of chitin; therefore suppressing pest nematode activity. Nematode-limiting effect develops after 4 to 8 months—sooner in warm soils with high Nitrogen. General usage is anywhere plants grow, and for accelerating compost piles.

Calcium, an essential part of plant cell wall structure, provides for transport and retention of other elements as well as strength in the plant.

Palm Ash
1% to 3% Phosphate, 25-35% Potassium, Magnesium 3%
High Potassium helps raise pH of Be-1 to a neutral 6.8 - 7.2%.
Magnesium is part of the chlorophyll in all green plants and essential for photosynthesis. It also helps activate many plant enzymes needed for growth.

Peanut Meal
8% Nitrogen, 1% Phosphorus and 2% Potassium
Good quality, slow-release nitrogen.
Slow-release and helps to raise nitrogen in Be-1 and balance carbon to nitrogen ratio.

Rice Bran
10% Fiber, 40% Carbohydrates, 20% Lipids and 10% Protein/Amino Acids
Rice bran is great at absorbing moisture, while maintaining a high carbon to nitrogen ratio.

Sesame Meal
6% Nitrogen, 4% Phosphorus and 2% Potassium
Sesame is one of the world's oldest cultivated plants.  Sesame also contains 43% Proteins (amino acids), 9% oils, 23% Carbohydrates, and 4% Trace Minerals (calcium, magnesium, copper, vitamin B1, zinc and dietary fiber)
